Cleave, meaning both to split or sever and to stick to, follows two slippery figures in a series of banal, domestic scenes. Situated within an eerie suburbia, the characters perform scripts from adult films, old Hollywood movies and Greek tragedies, slipping in and out of performance-modes and blurring the distinction between real and fake scenes.
